Who we are
When we say "UnStrike", "we", or "us", we mean UnStrike, the operator of unstrike.tech (the "Service"). The Service is a free, account-free tool that screens images, videos, and audio for potential copyright issues using reverse image search and AI analysis. How to read this policy
This policy has two parts. Part One describes the data processed when you use the scanning tool itself. Part Two describes cookies, advertising, and your choices. This policy does not cover the practices of websites we link to, the social media platforms you publish content to, or other companies we do not control.
Part One: Data processed by the tool
Files you upload
Files you upload are processed transiently to perform the scan you requested and are not stored by UnStrike. We do not build a library of uploads, we do not use your files to train models, and we cannot retrieve a file after your scan completes. Processing involves the following third-party providers, each acting under its own terms:
- OpenAI: receives images or video frames and any extracted transcript to perform the AI analysis, and receives audio to perform speech-to-text transcription.
- imgbb: for reverse image search only, receives a temporary copy of your image or a video frame, hosted with an auto-deletion window of approximately ten minutes.
- SerpAPI: receives the temporary image URL to run the Google reverse image search.
- Vercel: hosts the Service and processes requests as our infrastructure provider.
Data stored in your own browser
Your recent scan history (file name, score, and date) and your cookie consent choice are stored in your browser's local storage, on your device. This information never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
Technical data
Like virtually all websites, our infrastructure processes your IP address and basic request information (browser type, timestamps) to deliver pages, prevent abuse, and enforce rate limits. We use this data for security and operation of the Service, not to build profiles of visitors.
When you communicate with us
When you email us for any reason (support, feedback, a copyright notice, or a privacy request), we receive your email address and whatever information you include. We use it to respond to you and keep a record of the correspondence, and for no materially different purpose without notice. If you submit a copyright notice or counter-notice, we may share your contact information with the other party to that notice as described in our Copyright Policy.
Part Two: Cookies, advertising, and your choices
Cookies we use
- Essential: your cookie consent choice is stored locally so we don't ask you on every visit. This is required for the site to function and is always active.
- Advertising: with your permission, Google AdSense sets cookies to serve ads on the Service. If you also allow ad personalization, Google may tailor those ads to your interests based on your browsing on this site and elsewhere.
Google AdSense
The Service is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or youradchoices.com.
Your consent choices
When you first visit, a consent banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or set preferences individually (advertising on/off, personalization on/off). No advertising cookies are set until you make a choice, and Google Consent Mode is used to signal your choice to Google. You can change your decision at any time via "Cookie preference" in the footer. Our Cookie Policy has the full details.
Do Not Track
There is no industry consensus on how to interpret "Do Not Track" browser signals, and like most services we do not alter our practices in response to them. Your consent choices in our banner are the effective control.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Because the Service has no accounts, no sign-up, and no stored uploads, the data involved is minimal, but if you believe a child has sent us personal data (for example by email), contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Data security
We take commercially reasonable measures to protect data in transit and at rest: all traffic is served over HTTPS, API keys are held server-side and never exposed to the browser, uploads are validated and size-limited before processing, and endpoints are rate-limited to prevent abuse. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data retention
Uploaded files: not retained. Temporary reverse-search copies: auto-deleted after approximately ten minutes by the image host. Scan history and consent choices: stored on your own device until you clear them. Email correspondence: retained as long as needed to handle your inquiry and keep reasonable records.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the EU/UK GDPR, US state privacy laws such as the CCPA, and Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 27 of 2022), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to object to certain processing. Because UnStrike stores almost nothing about you, most requests will concern email correspondence or advertising cookies. To exercise any right, email helpmeunstrike@gmail.com with the subject "Privacy Request" and describe your request in enough detail for us to act on it. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
International transfers
Our infrastructure and service providers are located in multiple countries, including the United States. When you use the Service, your data may be processed in jurisdictions with different data protection standards than your own. We use providers that maintain recognized safeguards for such transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves or the law changes. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide notice on the site.
