Copyright Policy

How to read this policy

When we say "UnStrike", "we", or "us", we mean UnStrike, the operator of unstrike.tech. When we say "the Service", we mean the copyright pre-check tool and all pages available at unstrike.tech. This policy consists of three parts:

• Part One explains UnStrike's own position on copyright and how the Service treats the content you upload.
• Part Two explains your responsibilities when using the Service.
• Part Three explains how rights holders can submit an infringement notice, and how counter-notices are handled.

This policy does not cover the copyright practices of other services we do not own or control, including the social media platforms you publish to and the third-party providers that process scans on our behalf. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in our Terms of Service.

Part One: How UnStrike treats copyrighted material

Purpose of the Service

UnStrike exists to help creators identify potentially copyrighted material in their own media before they publish it, so they can license it, replace it, or seek professional advice. The Service is a screening aid. It does not grant, transfer, license, or clear any rights in any content, and its results are not copyright determinations.

What happens to uploaded content

• Files you upload are processed transiently to perform the scan you requested. UnStrike does not maintain a library or archive of uploaded files, does not republish them, and does not distribute them to other users.
• For reverse image search, a copy of your image or a video frame is temporarily hosted through a third-party image host with a short auto-deletion window (approximately ten minutes), solely so that the search engine can access it.
• Excerpts of your file (frames, transcripts) are transmitted to third-party AI and search providers to perform the analysis, under those providers' terms.
• Scan history shown on your device is stored in your own browser, not on our servers.

No endorsement of infringement

A scan result, including a "Low Risk" score, is not a statement that content is non-infringing, licensed, or safe to publish, and must not be presented to any platform, rights holder, court, or other party as evidence of clearance. UnStrike is not an official assessor of copyright decisions for any platform, and its results have no bearing on decisions made by platforms or rights holders.

Part Two: Your responsibilities

By uploading content to the Service, you represent that you have the lawful right to possess and analyze that content. You agree that you will not use the Service to:

• analyze content for the purpose of infringing, or concealing the infringement of, another person's copyright, for example testing how to modify someone else's work so it evades detection;
• upload content you obtained unlawfully; or
• misrepresent scan results as a license, clearance, certification, or legal opinion.

You remain solely responsible for the content you upload to the Service and for the content you subsequently publish anywhere else. UnStrike is not responsible for copyright strikes, claims, takedowns, demonetization, or any other enforcement action taken by any platform or rights holder against your content.

Part Three: Infringement notices

Reporting infringement

Because uploaded files are processed transiently and not published on the Service, UnStrike does not host user content that can be publicly accessed. However, if you believe that any material appearing on unstrike.tech itself, for example text or imagery on our pages or blog, infringes a copyright you own or represent, please send a notice to helpmeunstrike@gmail.com with the subject line "Copyright Notice" and include:

1. your name, email address, and country, so we can stay in contact with you while your notice is addressed;
2. identification of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed;
3. the exact URL on unstrike.tech where the allegedly infringing material appears;
4. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
5. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf; and
6. your physical or electronic signature.

The contact information you provide with a notice is used only to process your request and keep a record of it, as described in our Privacy Policy.

How we respond

We review complete notices promptly. Where a notice is valid, we will remove or disable access to the identified material and keep a record of the notice. Where a notice is incomplete, we will reply and explain what is missing. Knowingly submitting a materially false notice may expose you to liability under applicable law.

Counter-notices

If material you contributed to unstrike.tech was removed following a notice and you believe the removal was mistaken, you may send a counter-notice to the same address containing: identification of the removed material and its former URL; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; your name, address, and email; and your signature. We may forward your counter-notice, including your contact information, to the original notice sender before deciding whether to restore the material in accordance with applicable law.

Repeat infringers

We will block access to the Service for users who repeatedly submit infringing material or repeatedly abuse the notice process, where it is technically feasible to do so.

Trademarks

Third-party names, logos, and brands that appear in scan results or educational content are the property of their respective owners. They are referenced for identification purposes only, and their appearance does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by their owners.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service or in applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
